Virtual Program and Online Auction
For the first time in the tournament's history everyone will be able to enjoy the virtual dinner program on Thursday, August 20 at 6 p.m. and the opportunity to bid on auction items starting on August 17th. That means you can bid on our auction items from the comfort of your own home. You'll also hear from a person with ALS and their family and learn how your support through our fund a need auction makes a difference in their quality of live each day. Raise a glass with
us—from your favorite chair—and follow along with our emcee for a fun night of bidding. The dinner auction is a vital part of the Swing for a Cure Golf Tournament that allows us to continue to support our mission and we are excited to bring this portion of the event to you, virtually!
How to Participate in the Virtual Program
Click on the livestream button above when the event goes live on Thursday, August 20th at 6 p.m. We recommend you tune in with 2 devices (computer or tablet and cell phone) or open 2 tabs on your computer. This will allow you to watch the livestream program and bid using your cell phone in the mobile bidding platform during the event. In order to use mobile bidding to bid on auction items, you will need to register here (there is no fee to participate in the auction or virtual program). You can register before the auction opens to preview items and make sure you are familiar with the site. Once you register, you will receive a "welcome" text with your bidder link that will allow you to preview items and then bid when the auction opens on Monday, August 17 at 6 p.m.
How to Mobile Bid with Greater Giving Online Bidding
- Register on the mobile bidding site (you will need to provide your mobile number and credit card information).
- You will receive an automated ‘Welcome’ text with your bidder link.
- After clicking the link in the text, begin searching for packages by name, number, or category
- Select the package you wish to bid on.
- You can Bid the next increment or Bid More than the next increment
- If you choose to Bid More you can choose to set your Max Bid. If your max bid is the highest, the system will automatically bid in your favor until you are outbid or until the silent auction closes. If your bid is lower than the highest max bid on that package, you will be prompted to enter a higher bid.
- To purchase a package at the Buy Now price, select the Buy button.
- To "watch" a package, select the star icon on the package.
- To make a donation, select the Donation button on your home screen and choose a preset amount or select the Custom Amount button to enter the amount you wish to donate.
- If you’re out-bid at any point before the silent auction closes, you will receive a text message.
- To view packages you are bidding on, click the menu button and select Bids.
- To view packages you are watching, click the menu button and select Favorites.
- Once the auction closes, the guest with the highest bid will win.
- Under the Bids area you can check your winning packages.
